Naperville fire causes $100,000 in damages
A house fire Friday in the 1100 block of Tuscany Lane in Naperville caused $100,000 in damages, according to city fire officials.
After returning home, a resident called about 8:30 p.m. Friday to report the fire, according to a fire department news release.
Firefighters found heavy black smoke coming from the garage door of the two-story, single-family home. They evacuated occupants and worked to contain the fire.
Inside the house, firefighters encountered a large blaze in the kitchen. They had the fire under control about 8:49 p.m., according to the release.
There were no injuries to residents or firefighters. The cause is under investigation.
Officials from the Naperville Transportation, Engineering and Development Team determined the building was uninhabitable.
