The story of GOP’s decline
Think of the GOP as a frightened and abused wife of Donald J. Trump, her narcissistic husband. Should GOP try to go out and independently engage in positive activity, such as passing badly needed bipartisan immigration reform or helping Ukraine, her husband stops whatever it is she is trying to accomplish
A few years back, there was a horrible domestic situation whereby GOP mustered the courage to defy her husband in order to stay true to her oath of office. She went to the Capitol to certify the peoples’ choice of a new president. This legitimately elected president would be her husband’s rightful successor. She was so brave that day, placing the Constitution above her ego-driven spouse, not caring about her own safety.
When her husband found out what she was about to do, he went into a violent rage and sent a group of thugs, whom he referred to as “patriots,” to hunt her down. Fortunately he did not succeed and his spouse dutifully completed her task, saving democracy.
What happened to poor GOP after this violent event? Did her act of service that day give her the strength to leave her abusive marriage? Initially it seemed so. She publicly spoke against her husband, decrying the insurrection he had incited. It seemed that she might finally escape the grasp he had on her. Then, when she heard her husband might wither away without her, she went to see him at his resort and returned to him.
Now, she adamantly defends him, even describing his insurrection as a “peaceful demonstration.” Per his orders, she currently is advocating for open borders, and for our economy and health care system to fail. She knows better but she lives in fear of retribution. A sad viscous cycle.
Please pray for her emancipation and the preservation of democracy.
