Suburban Sprawl: First-time NBA All-Star highlights Vol. 2
So much going on, but the Suburban Sprawl knows no limits. Volume 2 is here:
Brunson is an all-star
This came as no surprise, but it was a nice moment when Stevenson grad Jalen Brunson was chosen an East All-Star for the first time this week. Here are some highlights from Madison Square Garden:
Low-level hot take: Dallas failing to sign Brunson to a contract extension was the best thing that could have happened, because he needed the ball in his hands with his own team to lead. That couldn’t have happened playing with Luka Doncic.
Hottest ticket in town
A few area teams turned Caitlin Clark’s visit to Northwestern into a group outing
Return to Canada
Chris Streveler from Marian Central in Woodstock had a brief run as an NFL backup QB with the Cardinals and Jets. Now he’s back with the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers, which he helped lead to the 2019 Grey Cup title. Streveler is set to join Marian Central Hall of Fame this spring
Of course, no one in Winnipeg will forget Streveler’s performance at the Grey Cup victory parade.
