ECC Arts Center presents the Chicago Tap Theatre Feb. 10

The Elgin Community College Arts Center presents the award-winning Chicago Tap Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 10.

The Chicago Tap Theatre is a vibrant dance company rooted in the notion that tap dance is at its best when it displays a knowledge of and appreciation for its history while still pushing the form forward.

The company stands apart from other dance companies by bridging the gap between tap and other concert dance forms, such as jazz, ballet, and modern, by creating dances and shows with a strong narrative and emotional element.

The Chicago Tap Theatre recently celebrated 20 years and was chosen by the Chicago Tribune as one of the top 10 dance shows of 2023. The company has also been recognized by the Chicago Sun-Times, SeeChicagoDance, Windy City Media, and Dance Magazine.

The show will be at 7 p.m. in the Blizzard Theatre on ECC’s Spartan Drive campus, 1700 Spartan Drive.

Tickets to see the Chicago Tap Theatre are $37 and can be purchased online at eccartscenter.org/tickets or by calling the ECC Arts Center box office at (847) 622-0300.

This show is for all ages. This program is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council Agency.
