The appeal of a strongman president

I worry that far too many American voters are OK with a strongman president as long as they believe that he will act in keeping with their values, needs and overall agenda. In November, candidate Trump is counting on there being enough voters like that in the swing states to put him over the top, even if he is convicted in multiple civil and criminal lawsuits now being prosecuted.
