One shot early Saturday in Elgin

A person who was shot early Saturday in Elgin was expected to survive, authorities said.
The shooting was reported about 5:40 a.m. on the 1000 block of Hecker Drive.
The male victim was taken to a hospital, police said.
Detectives are investigating.
