Boy charged with possession of vehicle stolen from Bartlett last year
Bartlett police took a boy into custody Tuesday who later was charged in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle from the village last April.
The juvenile was charged with a Class 2 felony for unlawful possession of a stolen motor vehicle and a Class A misdemeanor for damage to a vehicle.
On April 10, Bartlett police responded to the 500 block of Deere Park Circle to investigate a report of a stolen motor vehicle. Several days later, the vehicle was located in another jurisdiction nearby with a smashed-out rear window.
Following an investigation, detectives identified the juvenile as a suspect. Following his arrest he was petitioned to the Cook County Juvenile Court for charges.
The boy has since received pre-trial released and has a future court date at the Cook County courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
As per department policy, Bartlett police did not release any identifying information about the juvenile suspect, including his age.
