Palatine police seek help locating SUV tied to November slaying

Palatine police are asking for the public’s help locating a vehicle believed to be tied to the November slaying of a 30-year-old man.

Jun Zhang was found shot to death about 6 p.m. Nov. 17 by officers respond to reports of a man down and bleeding on the front porch of a home on the 800 block of South Plum Grove Road.

Jun was an only child who had emigrated from China to pursue an education and citizenship in the United States, according to police. He was recently engaged to be married, police said.

During their investigation, police acquired video footage of a vehicle believed to be connected to the killing. The vehicle appears to be a dark-colored SUV, possibly a 2017-2020 Nissan Rogue or Murano, police said.
