Aurora man receives 15-year prison sentence for selling drugs

A 48-year- old Aurora man was sentenced to 15 years in prison Wednesday for his involvement in an illegal firearms and drug-selling throughout the Chicago area.

The sentence was handed down in Kane County Wednesday after Steven Jordan pleaded guilty to unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

Jordan was charged in December 2022 for selling heroin to a confidential informant of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He was charged alongside seven other defendants in an investigation into the selling of illegal drugs and guns.

Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office worked with the ATF and several other local law enforcement agencies to uncover suburban gang members and their associates involved in the illegal operation. Another defendant, Huriel Hernandez, pleaded guilty in July and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The charges against the six other defendants are pending.
