Carol Stream to celebrate citizens of the year

The Carol Stream Citizen of the Year Committee will celebrate the village’s top volunteers during an annual awards banquet on March 2.

The committee will pay tribute to award winners in three categories. The Citizen of the Year award will be presented to two village residents who have volunteered their time in one or more community groups during the past year. A Special Citizen of the Year award will honor village residents who have volunteered in the community for five straight years. And a Judges Recognition Award will salute a person living outside of town who has provided exemplary volunteer service in the village.

The banquet will be held at St. Andrews Golf & County Club in West Chicago. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with a cash bar and raffles. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m., followed by the awards ceremony. Tickets cost $40 per person.
