Next Glenbrook North principal comes from Fremd High School

Glenbrook High School District 225 on Monday approved the appointment of former Fremd High School administrator Amanda Hughes as the next principal of Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook.

Hughes, who will start in her new position July 1, currently serves as assistant principal for buildings and grounds and as activity director at Fremd in Palatine.

She was chosen from a pool of eight candidates, District 225 officials said.

Hughes will succeed Glenbrook North’s co-principal team of Stephan Bild and Marina Scott. They were appointed on an interim basis in the summer of 2023 following the resignation of three-year Principal Jason Markey.

Markey left after the 2022-23 school year to become assistant superintendent for academics in Hinsdale Township High School District 86.
