New principal chosen for Poe Elementary in Arlington Heights
Stephanie Stallman has been named principal of Poe Elementary School in Arlington Heights effective July 1, when Christy Campbell retires after 12 years in the position.
Stallman’s promotion to the $115,000-a-year post was approved unanimously Thursday by the Wheeling Township Elementary District 21 school board.
Stallman, assistant principal at Poe for the last three years, previously was a special education teacher in Northwest Suburban High School District 214 and a social studies and special education teacher in Prairie Hill Elementary District 133.
Superintendent Michael Connolly said Stallman “blew out of the water” two external job finalists during the interview process in December and January.
