Eagles fly high over Fox River at ‘In Search of Eagles’

Representatives from several organizations were on hand to help visitors spot eagles during an “In Search of Eagles” program Saturday morning at the McHenry Dam, Algonquin Dam, Carpentersville Dam, as well as Geneva Lake in Williams Bay, Wisconsin.

Organizations included U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Friends of Hackmatack Wildlife Refuge, Illinois Department of Natural Resources and McHenry County Audubon.

Scopes and binoculars were available for use at each location, along with guided activities for children.

A planned raptor presentation at McHenry County Conservation District’s Prairieview Education Center in Crystal Lake was canceled due to weather.
