Bartlett man accused of threatening police with knife

Bartlett police on Friday arrested a man they said was threatening officers with a knife.

Bartlett resident Colin DeVitt, 22, was charged on three counts of aggravated assault and one count of obstruction of justice, all misdemeanors.

At about 4:15 p.m. Jan. 19, police responded to a business on the 300 block of South Main Street to investigate a report of a person walking down the street with a knife.

The Bartlett Police Department stated that when the responding officers found DeVitt he brandished the knife, then ran northbound on Main Street until police apprehended him and took him into custody.

While in custody, Bartlett Police said DeVitt again acted out against a police officer.

DeVitt was pre-trial released and assigned to a Feb. 29 court date in Rolling Meadows.
