Hanover Township to hold Jan. 24 Volunteer Fair

Hanover Township will host a Volunteer Fair at the Senior Center, 240 S. Route 59, Bartlett, from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 24. The public is invited to attend and talk with staff about the variety of volunteer opportunities available at the Township.

“We honestly could not provide the services we do, or the assistance we offer without the support of hundreds of volunteers,” said Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor. “From young adults to seniors, we truly have something for everyone who is interested in volunteering with us to serve the community.”

Opportunities for volunteering at the Senior Center include delivering meals to homebound residents, front desk reception, trip chaperoning, data entry, transportation dispatch, program instruction and more.

Representatives from the township’s Department of Human Services will also be available to talk about the volunteer opportunities in the Food Pantry that include sorting and picking up donations, as well as assisting residents in applying for benefits, and front desk reception.

Volunteers in the Hanover Township Emergency Services (HTES) Unit are trained to respond to a wide range of emergencies and non-emergency events to either assist primary emergency responders or operate independently in times of natural and man-made disasters. Unit officers will be at the fair to answer questions about volunteering for HTES.

For more information on volunteer programs please contact the Township at (630) 837-0301 or visit www.hanover-township.org.
