Man shoots way into Itasca home

Itasca police are investigating why a man forced his way into a home by shooting its back door Friday morning, claiming he was being chased.
It happened around 9:15 a.m. in the 800 block of Willow Court, according to police.
Two homeowners confronted the man, who immediately surrendered the weapon to them and asked for help.
Nobody was injured. The man is in custody.
Nearby Itasca Elementary District 10 schools were locked down as a precaution.
