Congressional candidate forum in Elmhurst on Sunday

Democratic candidates for Illinois’ 6th Congressional District seat are set to attend a public forum on Sunday in Elmhurst.

The event will be held by the League of Women Voters of Elmhurst at city hall, 209 N. York Road. It’s scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Illinois’ primary election is March 19.

In the Democratic primary for the congressional seat, U.S. Rep. Sean Casten of Downers Grove is being challenged by Mahnoor Ahmad of Oakbrook Terrace and Chicagoan Charles Hughes.

Republican Niki Conforti of Glen Ellyn is running unopposed for the Republican Party nomination.

The 6th District includes parts of Cook and DuPage counties.

Democratic candidates for DuPage County coroner and DuPage County recorder of deeds will attend the forum, too.
