Prepare for Valentine’s Day with Shakespearean sonnets

Schaumburg Township District Library presents Goodly Creatures Theatre’s production of “Goodly Creatures: Shakespeare’s Sonnets for Modern Times” at Trickster Cultural Center on Thursdays, Feb. 8 and 15.

Goodly Creatures Theatre (GCT) will present its original production “Goodly Creatures: Shakespeare’s Sonnets for Modern Times” by Katrina Syrris at the Trickster Cultural Center.

Previously seen at Stage 773 in Chicago, the Elgin Art Showcase and the Elgin Literary Festival, GCT’s namesake production returns to the stage five years after its debut, bringing to life Shakespeare’s most loved sonnets once again — just in time for Valentine’s Day.

For two performances only, the language of the Bard will come to life in thrilling new ways, telling the story of eight friends experiencing the universal challenges and triumphs of being in love.

“Goodly Creatures: Shakespeare’s Sonnets for Modern Times” will take place from 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursdays, Feb. 8 and 15, at Trickster Cultural Center, 190 S. Roselle Road, in Schaumburg.
