North Shore School District 112 names two associate principals for the 2024-25 school year

The North Shore School District 112 Board of Education unanimously approved the appointment of Victoria Dobies as associate principal at Oak Terrace Elementary School and Annie Orlov as associate principal at Northwood Middle School at their Tuesday night meeting. Both appointments will go into effect on July 1, 2024.

Dobies will return to Oak Terrace, where she was a dual-language teacher from 2017 to 2022, after serving as an instructional coach at Red Oak Elementary for the past two school years. In that role, she has been responsible for designing instructional plans, leading staff professional development and collaborating with teachers to improve student achievement. Dobies earned a bachelor of science in education in bilingual/bicultural education from Loyola University, as well as a bachelor of arts in Spanish. She has a master’s degree in literacy with a reading specialist endorsement from National Louis University.

Orlov is currently the associate principal at Oak Terrace, where she has served for two years. Prior to that, she held multiple roles in education including as a teacher, innovation coach and language development coach. Orlov received a bachelor of science in elementary education from Bradley University and a master’s from Concordia University. She has a principal endorsement, as well as endorsements in English as a second language, and science and language arts. She is pursuing a special education learning behavior specialist endorsement. At Northwood, she will replace current associate principal Melissa Raich, who is retiring at the conclusion of the 2023-24 school year.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to maintain strong leadership at Oak Terrace and Northwood in 2024-25 and beyond,” Deputy Superintendent Dr. Monica Schroeder said. “Annie’s remarkable blend of talent, dedication and experience will be invaluable in the middle school environment. Victoria has consistently demonstrated exceptional qualities as an instructional coach and brings natural leadership skills to the new position. We are eager to watch the growth of both educators as well as the impact they will have on their school communities.”

Both Dobies and Orlov will complete the 2023-24 school year in their current roles.
