Late night furnace fire leaves Naperville home uninhabitable

A late night fire at a Naperville home is being blamed on a malfunctioning furnace.

No injuries were reported from the fire that was reported just before 9:30 p.m. Wednesday on the 1100 block of Catherine Avenue.

The fire was extinguished within five minutes, but damage was estimated at roughly $50,000.

The two-story, single-family house was rendered uninhabitable. Residents were able to find alternate housing.
