Palatine Chamber women’s group offers scholarships

For the 10th consecutive year, Women Empowered Businesses (WEB), a networking group of the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce, is offering two $1,000 college scholarships to graduating female students from Fremd High School and Palatine High School.

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must have a minimum of a 2.75 GPA with the intent of attending a two- or four-year college or university in fall 2024 to pursue a degree in a business-related field.

Other criteria that will be considered by the scholarship committee include business coursework in high school, employment experience, participation in clubs/activities/service/volunteer roles, three short response questions, and two letters of recommendation. The application deadline is March 15.

Students can access the fillable scholarship application through their high schools or download it via a link on the chamber website at palatinechamber.com/networking-groups.

WEB is a diverse and active group of women in all levels of the business sector who are interested in learning from, networking with, and empowering each other in our respective lines of work. Meetings are held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, at Tap House Grill. The annual membership fee for the group is $60, which is donated to the high school scholarship fund.
