Laws and immigration
Rich Barsanti has a solution for the problem of illegal immigration. Says he: “As thousands of immigrants stream into our country, there is a match waiting to happen.” A match? Sure, he continues: “…business, education and immigration officials could streamline the transition of immigrants into available jobs.”
We have a problem here, however. There’s been quite an outcry in America lately that “no one is above the law.” And speaking of laws, isn’t Simpson-Mazzoli still on the books? This law is also known as the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986. It makes it a crime for an employer to knowingly hire anyone who is illegally in this country. The fines for non-compliance are per illegal hire and they can be massive.
So then, are we a nation of laws or aren’t we?
