Lydia’s Piecemakers begins new ministry: The Prayer Quilt
Lydia’s Piecemakers, a quilting group at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Aurora, is beginning a new ministry: the Prayer Quilt.
At the request of a prospective recipient or a sponsor, a lap-size quilt will be placed in the narthex as a prayer request.
Members of the congregation will be encouraged to offer a prayer for the recipient while tying a knot on the quilt.
The quilt will then be available for pickup or delivery to the recipient to provide comfort, warmth and a tangible token of love from St. Mark’s congregants.
The initial recipient will be congregant Jim Toynton. His quilt was set on a table in the narthex during the weekends of Jan. 13-14 and 20-21.
Prayer quilt request forms are available from the welcome desk and church office.
