Arlington Heights Historical Society to host two upcoming events
The Arlington Heights Historical (AHHS) is excited to be hosting two upcoming events. Back by popular demand, Team Trivia Night will be held Feb. 25. New this year, the society will be hosting AH Tell Your Story: Open Mic Night on March 3.
The Team Trivia Night competition will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25, at Arlington Lakes Golf Club, 1211 S. Wilke Road. The AHHS will be providing snacks and sandwiches, and a cash bar will be available.
“This trivia event features questions in a wide range of categories, ensuring that the useless knowledge stored in everyone’s brain is finally put to good use,” says event organizer John Amilning.
In addition to challenging trivia questions, this fundraiser event includes a 50/50 raffle, the ability to “bribe” the judge, and the opportunity to put your competitors in jail.
Team registration is $120 for teams no more than six. Teams may register online at anc.apm.activecommunities.com/ahpd/activity/search/detail/73403?onlineSiteId=0&from_original_cui=true or call Maggie Sraga at (847)-255-1225.
New this year, the chance for Arlington Heights residents to come together to share their favorite stories of Arlington Heights. This inaugural event will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, at the Arlington Heights History Museum, 110 W. Fremont St.
“We often underestimate the power of storytelling as a way to share history,” says AHHS Operations Manager Maggie Sraga. “This night is about coming together and sharing the memories and stories that helped make Arlington Heights the great village it is today.”
This is a free event or the community. Participants can register to speak or be a participant at https://anc.apm.activecommunities.com/ahpd/activity/search/detail/73408?onlineSiteId=0&from_original_cui=true or call Maggie Sraga at (847)-255-1225.
Both events support the society’s mission of collecting, preserving and celebrating the historical heritage of Arlington Heights.
