DuPage County Board recognizes Muslim American Heritage Month and MLK
DuPage County Board members this week approved two proclamations to recognize the month of January as Muslim American Heritage Month and Jan. 15 as Dr. Martin Luther King Day.
In the proclamation recognizing Muslim American Heritage Month, DuPage County residents are encouraged to learn more about the contributions and history of Muslim Americans in the community. Illinois first began recognizing January as Muslim American Heritage Month in 2021.
County board members also recognized the contributions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a proclamation honoring him. A community breakfast honoring King’s legacy also will be held on Jan. 15.
