People on the move: New hires at Arlington Heights law firm, Marquette Management, more

Lisa Bernstein joins Drost Kivlahan McMahon & O’Connor

Attorney Lisa G. Bernstein recently joined the Arlington Heights law firm Drost Kivlahan McMahon & O’Connor LLC.

Bernstein graduated from Michigan State University College of Law in 2006. Throughout her career, she has focused in the areas of real estate and estate planning. In 2011, she started her own practice.

The announcement follows a period of growth for the firm. In early November, the firm hired attorney Monica Boctor, who primarily is focused on real estate.

“This firm began in 1987 with one attorney and a few committed staff members,” Managing Partner Ernest Rose said. “Our recent growth is a direct result of our team’s dedication to our clients and our community.”

Jack Devedjian joins Marquette Management

Jack Devedjian has joined Naperville-based Marquette Management as director of capital projects and facilities.

In his new role, Devedjian will oversee capital programs and construction projects as a member of the firm’s leadership team.

Most recently, Devedjian served as vice president of facilities management and engineering at Chicago-based Habitat, where he directed and managed long-term capital projects. Before that, he was senior vice president of real estate development at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, where he implemented several cost-saving initiatives and oversaw multiple development and expansion projects. Other past positions include vice president of facilities and engineering at The Tribune Company and managing the facilities for S&C Electric Company.

Marquette Management is a subsidiary of Marquette Companies. Since the development of its first building in 1983, it has grown in multiple markets across seven states with its multifamily and mixed-use assets under management valued at more than $3.3 billion.

Karoline Qasem joins Fehr Graham

Karoline Qasem recently joined Fehr Graham, a leading Midwest engineering and environmental firm, as a project manager.

Qasem is spearheading the growth of water quality, stormwater management and permitting markets at Fehr Graham. Her background encompasses civil and environmental engineering and urban planning. Specializing in modeling, Qasem is well-versed in water quality, watershed and hydrodynamic modeling for regulatory permits and nutrient criteria limit development.

She serves on the steering committee for the Calumet Stormwater Collaborative and is the chair of the Illinois Water Environment Association Watershed Management Committee.

John Joyce joins Entre Commercial Realty

John Joyce

John Joyce recently joined Arlington Heights-based Entre Commercial Realty to expand the firm’s coverage in the North and Northwest suburban Chicago markets.

Joyce specializes in the leasing, acquisition, disposition, and development of industrial, office, land, and investment properties. He formed a team with business partner Sam Deihs in 2023, and together,they bring 10+ years of brokerage experience to each project.

As a native of the Northwest suburbs, Joyce has a unique understanding of local market dynamics and focuses his efforts on the Lake County, northwest Cook, north Kane, and north DuPage submarkets.

He is a board member for the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers.

Before joining Entre Commercial, Joyce was a vice president at Lee & Associates.

Chip Miceli named to ‘Influencer’s Circle’

Chip Miceli, CEO of Pulse Technology, has been named to the prestigious “Influencer’s Circle” by the West McDonald Co.

The West McDonald Co. is a leading authority in artificial intelligence training and business solutions.

Founder West McDonald said this year’s list “encompasses a diverse spectrum of tech aficionados, industry shapers, and thought leaders.”
