Texas men charged with stealing from ATM in Glen Ellyn

Accused of using stolen pickup trucks to pull ATMs in Indiana, Illinois and Iowa

A fifth defendant was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday on charges of conspiring to steal from automated teller machines, including one near Glen Ellyn.

Tristian Miller, 27, of Stafford, Texas, was arrested in December in Houston, according to a news release from Morris Pasqual, acting U.S. attorney for the northern district of Illinois.

He joins four other Texas men charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.

The news release said they often used chains to connect ATMs to stolen pickup trucks to break into the ATMs. After the thefts, they abandoned the trucks and fled in other vehicles, according to the indictment.

They allegedly stole from eight ATMs in Indiana, Illinois and Iowa between March 12 and April 3, 2022.

An ATM at Parkway Bank on Butterfield Road near Glen Ellyn was hit on March 25, 2022, according to the news release.

The other defendants are Danny Roland, 27, and Chandler Williams, 27, of Missouri City, Texas; Bryce Jones, 26, of Webster, Texas; and Daquan Bens, 29, of Houston.
