Round Lake Area library to seek voter permission to borrow $36.4 million

The Round Lake Area Public Library District will be asking voters for permission to borrow about $36.4 million to build a new library to replace the current facility at 906 Hart Road in Round Lake. The measure will be on the March 19 general primary election ballot. Officials say the library is facing space constraints and aging infrastructure in the current facility built in 1988. As proposed, the new building would be located between Hart and Cedar Lake roads and Route 134. Visit the Referendum 2024 tab at rlalibrary.org for details.
