Winterfest at Volo Bog State Natural Area

The annual WinterFest at Volo Bog State Natural Area in Ingleside offers a blend of indoor and outdoor activities from 1 to 4 p.m. Jan. 14. Live music, photo contest awards kids crafts and snacks will be offered indoors. Bog tours, a snow-sculpting context, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and hiking through woodland, wetland and prairie will be outdoors at the bog, 28478 W. Brandenburg Road. Bring your own skis or snowshoes. Harper’s Back Porch Revue, an eclectic ensemble return to deliver blues and country, old time, folk, gospel music and more in sets at 1, 2, and 3 p.m. Hot cocoa, soda, and will be available for sale. Eight 45-minute bog tours will begin at 11 a.m. A suggested donation of $10 per adult to support this and other programs at Volo Bog will be appreciated. Children can take the tour for free.
