Are Palestinians blameless?

Why hasn’t the Democratic Party countered the criticism that innocent Palestinians were merely blameless bystanders while Hamas built its network of tunnels that extend miles in every direction from Gaza City?

Did the government not inquire about its intent? If it did, how could the answer be so construed that a planned invasion was not in the offing? Did it conceal it from the population-at-large, people who would suffer the brunt of an Israeli retaliation?

Between 1933 and 1945, Nazi Germany and its allies established more than 44,000 camps and other incarceration sites (including ghettos). The perpetrators used these sites for a range of purposes, including forced labor, detention of people thought to be enemies of the state, and mass murder.

And yet, upon questioning after the war, few German citizens knew of their existence. Were the civilians of Gaza and Germany on lockdown when the ground was excavated and camps were built, forbidden to travel outside their homes to enjoy the great outdoors?
