Update available?
A few years ago I read about a Department of Defense study that was ongoing to determine the actual expiration of medicines. The department was spending millions of dollars annually replacing meds the manufacturers claimed were expired. The department wanted to know how accurate those claims were. The study sampled thousands of both over-the-counter meds as well as prescription meds. Their standard was at what point the meds fell below 75% effectiveness. At that time, only one special category of injectable serum that required very specific temperature and humidity requirements failed — after, at the time, 15 years of the study. I'd love to know what the current results are from that study. Wouldn't you?
