Two charged after family squabble leads to gunfire
One person is in custody after a family argument turned violent Wednesday evening and gunfire erupted in Hoffman Estates.
Chung Yum, 50, is charged with a felony count of reckless discharge of a firearm.
Hoffman Estates police said they were called to a home on the 5100 block of Chambers Drive just after 5:45 p.m. for a report of a fight inside the home and possible shots fired.
Callers also told police Yum had fled.
Investigators determined an argument between family members turned physical. During the fight, one of the family members discharged a firearm into the ceiling. No one was struck.
Yum was eventually located by police.
