Smithfield in St. Charles to hand out more than 7,000 free holiday hams Thursday
Smithfield Foods in St. Charles will distribute more than 7,000 free holiday hams on Thursday, Dec. 21.
The effort, in partnership with CALS Cares, is part of Smithfield’s Helping Hungry Homes program and their fight against hunger. The donation of more than 30,000 pounds of ham will provide more than 120,000 servings of protein to neighbors in need.
Community members are invited to pick up one of the spiral quarter hams starting at noon Thursday at Smithfield Foods, 410 S. Kirk Road. Enter from the Ohio Avenue entrance. The giveaway will run until 4 p.m. – or until supplies last.
