District 41 selects new superintendent

Glen Ellyn Elementary District 41 school board members have named Jeffrey McHugh as the district’s new superintendent.

McHugh, who has more than 20 years of experience in education, currently serves as deputy superintendent for Lake Forest Districts 67 and 115. He previously served as director of teaching and learning for Lake Forest District 67.

In a news release, McHugh said he looks forward to working with the District 41 community to build on its achievements.

“I am excited about getting into the schools, connecting with the community, listening to your insights and working together for the benefit of all students,” McHugh said.

School board members, who conducted a national search for a new superintendent, approved a three-year contract for McHugh. He will begin on July 1, 2024.

“Jeff brings to our D41 community a record of school accomplishments and a passionate desire to both lead and advance the work being done by our talented leadership team and staff,” school board president Robert Bruno said.
