Firefighters handle ammonia leak at Bartlett business park
No injuries were reported from an ammonia leak late Sunday at a Bartlett business park that took more than four hours to bring under control.
Special hazardous materials technicians from the Bartlett Fire Protection District dealt with the leak that was first reported just after 9:40 p.m. at a manufacturing business on the 1300 block of Brewster Creek Boulevard.
Hazardous materials technicians from neighboring departments also were on site for backup.
The technicians entered the building in specially designed suits and the leak was declared under control just before 2 a.m.
The cause of the leak remains under investigation.
