Levels of threat

As I read my Daily Herald on Dec. 11, I wondered how the editors make their decision as to what is more newsworthy. Page 1: “$1.1Billion for river barrier to stop carp”. Page two: “Arizona border agents overwhelmed.”

How did your editors determine that carp are more of a threat to our country than thousands of immigrants surging across our borders. Is it dollars? Because $1.1 billion is a drop in the bucket as to to what all these immigrants will cost .

Another observation: All we hear about is social injustice going on with the separations of families at the border and poor families trying to make a better life. A very close observation of the two photos supplied along with the article finds hundreds of individuals. Not one is a female or child.
