Senior drivers are unfairly singled out
Why pick on seniors simply because they are seniors? How about requiring road testing for licenses where individuals are cited for moving violations, or cited for being at fault in an accident?
That would make sense and is fair, but it would also probably inundate the Secretary of State’s Office with required road tests from all ages (far more than just seniors).
So where is the real problem? It would be funny to receive the good driver safety citation from the state at the time of license renewal and receive good driver discounts from insurance but still have to be road tested anyway and have those cited not road tested simply because they are not seniors.
The effects of legalized marijuana are finally becoming evident in the state legislature. Just light up and leave the legislature alone. How about this for a legislative initiative, State of Illinois assume responsibility to pay for uninsured motorist coverage and not heap that on those who have required insurance.
