Mundelein Park District Amenities featured in Illinois senator’s ‘30 Wonders of the 30th District’

The Mundelein Heritage Museum and Diamond Lake Beach were among the parks and facilities named in “30 Wonders of the 30th District” by Illinois State Sen. Adriane Johnson. The announcement came at a recent reception held by the Senator representing the 30th District which includes Mundelein.

The 30 Wonders of the 30th District guide was published to “celebrate and uplift public amenities, parks, monuments and other experiences around the District. From community centers to local museums, their value comes not just from their beauty or educational impact, but also from their role as community hubs,” a release from Johnson’s office said. Residents are encouraged to use the project to “explore their home communities and rediscover the interesting history, artistic vibrancy, social energy and stunning nature in their own backyard.”

Johnson’s office publicized a brief questionnaire asking residents to share their favorite locations within the 30th District. Information was collected in the spring.

“We are very honored to have two of our locations highlighted in Sen. Johnson’s guide,” Mundelein Park & Recreation District Executive Director Ron Salski said. “The Senator is a wonderful advocate for the 30th District, and this guide is a testament to that.”

“We hope to encourage constituents around the district to take a little time to visit some of these wonders and enjoy all that the 30th District has to offer,” Johnson said.
