What to do with your Christmas tree in Des Plaines
Des Plaines homeowners who want to dispose of unwanted Christmas trees should leave them curbside between Jan. 2 and Jan. 5 so public works and engineering crews can pick them up.
Trees should be left bare, with no lights, decorations or tinsel.
Additionally, the LRS waste-hauling company will pick up unwanted trees at customers’ homes through Jan. 12.
Homeowners should make sure trees do not freeze to the ground. That would prevent removal.
