Sound check: Lucky Boys Confusion, Spitalfield, Juice WRLD Day, Pop-Punk X-mas

This weekend brings a mix of holiday, rock, rap and punk shows to Chicago and the suburbs

Musical reunions

If your musical roots run deep through DuPage County circa 20-some years ago, this is your weekend.

On Friday, Glen Ellyn-born emo-punk group Spitalfield brings to a close its reunion year celebrating the 20th anniversary of the seminal release “Remember RIght Now” with a show at Noon Whistle Brewing in Naperville, the band’s first in the suburbs since 2007. The bill also features rock from The Junior Varsity and pop-punk band Eugene Levy. 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at Noon Whistle Brewing, 1748 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville. $22. noonwhistlebrewing.com.

The next day, head in to Chicago for a reunion of the West suburban rock scene of the late-’90s/early-aughts with Lucky Boys Confusion at Concord Music Hall. LBC, who built a following at suburban house parties and local shows before gaining national fame, heads the lineup, which includes a roundup of suburban-born punk and rock acts with TLB, Showoff and The Burning Lights. 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Concord Music Hall, 2051 N. Pop-punk Xmas

Get your holiday fix with a heavy dose of pop-punk as Chicago faves Fluorescents, Four Stars and Wolf Rd regroup for Pop-Punk Xmas Goes 90s concert. Big band Christmas

West suburban trumpeter Pete Ellman brings his big, bold and brassy holiday celebration to The Venue in Aurora this weekend as the Pete Ellman Big Band marks the Twelve Grooves of Christmas. 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at The Venue, 21 S. Broadway Ave., Aurora. $20-$25. themusicvenue.org.

Juice WRLD Day

Celebrate the life of the late Chicago-based emo-rapper Juice WRLD with the musical community he helped grow at the third annual Juice WRLD Day concert, featuring performances from A Boogie With Da Hoodie, G Herbo, Lucki, Luh Tyler, Rae Sremmurd, Ski Mask the Slump God and many others. 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at the United Center, 1901 W. Eli Young Band

Grammy-nominated modern country act the Eli Young Band bring hits from last year’s “Love Talking” along with two decades worth of tunes to Rosemont this weekend. Rosie’s rock holidays

With powerful vocals and throwback energy, Chicago retro revivalists Rosie & the Rivets wrap up holiday classics in their signature blend of rockabilly, R&B and surf sounds for their Jingle Bell Rocks! show at Hey Nonny, 10 S.
