Village plan gives up too much, too easily
I am opposed to the Arlington Heights Village Board accepting the current urban street plan without any assurance that affordable or senior housing will ever be built, either inclusively or as a separate seventh building. This is irresponsible and short-sighted.
How many future projects, including the Bears, will get the same sweet deal?
If a separate building is built, will management provide the same level of maintenance repairs or housekeeping as in the 6 market level buildings? What about security? Parking? Does the board really care?
Clearly, this is a precedent the village should not be considering.
