Holy Trinity Lutheran to host hymn sing Dec. 17

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin will be hosting a Hymn Sing on Sunday, Dec. 17.

Matt Wahl, Holy Trinity's director of music, will be performing a Christmas-themed program featuring a mix of Christmas hymns, organ and piano solos, as well as several flute and organ duets with local flutist Bethany Wahl.

It will begin at 3 p.m. at the church, 357 Division St.

A reception will follow. There is no cost to attend.

A freewill offering will be taken to support the music ministry at Holy Trinity Lutheran.

Worship is at 5 p.m. Saturday and 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Living Nativity

This year, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Elgin will offer a Living Nativity display.

Church members will take turns as actors. Walking visitors can view or walk through the scene, which will depict the birth of Jesus Christ.

The live performance will be 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23. Stop by or drive by to view the event.

All are welcome to enjoy cookies and hot chocolate in the church after the event.
