A service to vets

During the buildup to Veterans Day the Herald had stories and dates of Veterans Day events in the area. But I don't remember seeing any information about Rolling Meadows Veterans Day events. The Rolling Meadows Veterans Committee puts on a very nice diner for vets at a banquet hall with good speakers and a chance to meet other vets. At one diner 15 years ago I learned from my friend of 25 years, from his wife, that he was a paratrooper in the squad looking for Private Ryan, just like the movie. The Rolling Meadows Veterans Committee does a great job for veterans.
