Pretrial release denied for 2 people charged with robbing 7-Eleven in Elmhurst
Two people have been charged with robbing a 7-Eleven store in Elmhurst.
A judge on Sunday denied pretrial release for Ditalion Barnett, 27, of the 3500 block of Douglas Boulevard in Chicago, and Adyria Moore, 23, of the 300 block of Iroquois Road in Hillside.
They are each charged with one count of armed robbery with a firearm.
Police were called at 7:56 p.m. Friday to the store at 572 S. York St., according to a news release from the DuPage County state's attorney's office.
Authorities allege Barnett, wearing a face mask, entered the store, selected a Snapple beverage and approached the register. He then showed a handgun and told the clerk, "Give me everything," which the clerk refused. "I'm going to shoot you," Barnett allegedly told the clerk, but the clerk again refused. Barnett took the Snapple and left, according to authorities.
He got into a vehicle allegedly driven by Moore, and they left.
Authorities allege they planned the robbery two days before and that Moore gave him the address of the store.
The two were arrested Saturday in Bellwood.
