Who will be the next Maine Township High School District 207 superintendent?

A series of closed-door interviews with educators hoping to be Maine Township High School District 207's next superintendent continues this week.

Current Superintendent Ken Wallace announced in June that he is retiring at the end of the current school year.

Wallace has served as superintendent since 2009, longer than anyone else in the Park Ridge-based district's history.

The interviews, led by the District 207 board, began last week, before the Thanksgiving break.

The next session is set for 5 p.m. Monday at the District 207 headquarters at 1177 S. Dee Road, Park Ridge.

Additional interviews are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday and 2 p.m. Wednesday at the same location and for 8 a.m. Saturday at Maine East High School, 2601 W. Dempster St., Park Ridge.

The school board is expected to formally hire Wallace's successor Dec. 20, a District 207 spokesman said.

Wallace came to District 207 in 2005 as the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction. He served in that role for four years before being named superintendent.

Before joining District 207, Wallace worked as a teacher, athletic coach and administrator in Indiana.
