Snow, cold predicted this week in the Chicago area
Bundle up, folks: The experts are predicting snow and a colder-than-usual week.
Snowfall is predicted to be heaviest between 4 and 10 a.m. Sunday in this region, according to forecasts from the National Weather Service bureau in Romeoville.
An inch or two are possible, and roads could be slippery, meteorologists warned.
The outlook for all of northeast Illinois is considered hazardous, the weather service said.
As for temperatures, a high of 35 degrees is predicted for today at O'Hare International Airport, with the mercury expected to drop to 22 degrees at night as clouds remain in the area.
Temperatures should remain below the freezing mark on Monday and Tuesday, dropping to as low as 18 degrees Monday night.
Things should warm up Wednesday, according to forecasts, with the temperature expected to reach 37 degrees.
High temperatures should be in the 40s on Thursday and Friday. Rain is also possible both days, meteorologists said.
