Peace is not possible until Hamas is gone
While some of those protesting Israel's invasion of Gaza may truly believe that there can be a peaceful solution if only Israel agrees to a cease fire they fail to realize that there can be no two-state solution with peace unless Hamas is defeated or at least neutralized.
Unfortunately, this will never occur as long as Hamas is getting support from Iran. Since we don't want a war with Iran the only hope is for some of the moderate Arab counties to convince Iran to stop funding Hamas.
Realistically, the only Arab country that might have that capability is Saudi Arabia, and I can't see them stepping up. Therefore, regardless of how bloody it gets, we must let Israel finish the job; otherwise, there will never be a separate Palestinian nation capable of getting along with Israel.
