Windy City Bulls lose in home opener
The Windy City Bulls, the NBA G League affiliate of the Chicago Bulls, lost to the Cleveland Charge 104-100 Saturday night.
Windy City was led by Chicago Bulls two-way forward Adama Sanogo with 21 points and 15 rebounds.
Guard Quenton Jackson chipped in 17 points and 9 assists off the bench for Windy City. Chicago Bulls assignment forward Julian Phillips and forward Henri Drell finished with 13 points each.
The first half was a back-and-forth battle with Cleveland taking a 51-50 lead going into halftime. Forward Isaih Moore led Windy City with nine points at the half.
The Charge jumped out to a nine-point lead in the third quarter, however, the Bulls battled back in the fourth quarter, making it a one-point game with a minute to go. Cleveland responded with a layup and free throw to finish the game.
Cleveland was led by Cleveland Cavaliers two-way forward Isaiah Mobley with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Justin Powell and guard Rob Edwards finished with 14 points each.
With the loss Windy City fell to 2-2 in the regular season, while Cleveland improved to 3-1.
Next up, Windy City takes on the Cleveland Charge again Sunday at NOW Arena. Sunday's game is slated to tip off at 5 p.m. and will be broadcast live on NBAGleague.com.
