Giving Tuesday: Eat Portillo's, benefit Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity Nov. 28

Portillo's Restaurant in Batavia will host a benefit for Fox Valley Habitat for Humanity on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the restaurant, 531 N. Randall Road.

Mention Fox Valley Habitat when ordering and Portillo's will give back 20% of proceeds to Habitat. Valid on drive-through, pickup, curbside and in-restaurant orders.

Founded in 1988 in Aurora, Fox Valley Habitat is based at Genesis Community Church in Montgomery. A Habitat warehouse is at 250 S. Highland Ave. in Aurora.

The nondenominational Christian housing ministry partners with people in need to deliver affordable shelter.

Since its inception, more than 200 residents of Aurora, Batavia, North Aurora and Montgomery have been served through 71 new or upgraded homes.

Volunteers and donations of funds and materials are needed to continue the ministry.
