Teach responsibility
Last week, two stories caught my eye. The first involved a lawsuit involving a police chase. The people involved were doing doughnuts in a parking lot and when the Police came they decided to drive off instead of stopping. The people fled and tragically, a couple died and their families are now suing because of the chase. What are the lawyers thinking?
They ran from police in their Dodge Charger. Fact is if they pulled over and showed respect to the officers, things would have turned out differently, but instead blame police. What a joke.
Finally, there was a robbery at Woodfield Mall that ended up in a chase to Oakbrook, hitting a police car. They caught the bad guy, only to find out he was out on bail for attempting a murder. What was the judge thinking who let this suspect out on bail?
People have to be held accountable for their actions. We better as a society get back to the old days and teach the youth to respect our police officers. It is obvious that this is not being taught at home as well as a lot of other things.
